In four and a half years, I’ve had six roles, worked abroad and challenged the status quo
“Sky is forward-facing and action-orientated. Creative and customer-led. Collaborative and inclusive. And of course fair and responsible. These values represent the culture at Sky.”

Rebecca Buchheister –
Head of Sales & SBS
I first joined Sky to gain work experience during the last semester of my Master of Science, and I got first-hand experience of the many exciting possibilities that a Sky career offers – to work on different projects and even abroad at other Sky Group locations. So when I was asked to join full-time after a few months, I could not turn down the opportunity.
I felt extremely valued throughout the entire application and onboarding process, both as a working student and as a full-time new joiner. My managers took the time to get me perfectly settled into my role, and made sure that I understood the business end-to-end so that I was equipped to make the right decisions for the company in my day-to-day.
One of my biggest achievements so far has been when I came back to Germany after working at the Sky London office, and implementing some of the new things I learned. This allowed for a much more efficient forecast process and automated cost reporting for key stakeholders.
From working in the commercial counterpart for Sky’s Open Innovation Hub, to Capital and labour planning. From managing the B2B markets to finally leading the team as well as B2C sales. I’ve been exposed to so many different parts of the business and seen the breadth of opportunities that you can get involved in. It’s a shame you can’t work on all of the projects that interest you all at once, but knowing how to stay focused on your goals and saying no when you need to are all part of learning how to progress and develop to the next level of your career. The great feedback culture and access to brilliant training all support in ensuring this too.
