I first worked with Sky as an external consultant in 2014, as a Project Manager. I immediately knew that I wanted to be a permanent member of the Sky family, because although we faced many challenges along the way, the passion, energy and ‘can-do’ mentality of everyone in the team really inspired me. I finally joined Sky in 2016.
Every day, I’m surrounded by great colleagues across all our markets, working on a variety of products and projects. I’m responsible for the releases and stability of Sky Ticket, the releases of Sky Store, as well as the in-life management of our streaming and Store products. None of what I do would be possible without the incredible team behind me. We’re always there to support one another through it all.
I’ve been able to work in different departments and positions at Sky; collaborating with great leaders who I continuously learn so much from. Here, everyone is valued for their hard work and determination. I believe that having diversity in leadership roles is important because of the diversity in the people we serve – our customers. A workforce that is truly representative leads to a stronger culture, team bond and innovative spirit, adding up to brilliant results.
From my first project going live in a short timeframe, being part of the L.E.A.D. programme for young leaders, to winning a ‘Best of Sky Award’, I’ve had some unforgettable moments in my career at Sky. My advice to young women starting their careers would be to believe in your own strengths and to seize opportunities whenever they arise. Don’t be afraid to fail because facing difficulties is part of your growth. And never ever tell yourself you can’t do anything, because you can!
