What you’ll do
- Your task is to plan, design and implement LAN/WAN, Data Center networks and Multicast IP networks, maintaining & operating networks in the Data Center, EVPN/VXLAN networks, Multicast networks as well as in the Cloud and operating Cisco ACI
- You'll independently analyze networks, help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as quickly as possible
- You'll assess the need for network/security reconfigurations, redesign and implement as needed
- Most importantly, owning the execution of daily network tasks to ensure network reliability, availability and operability with minimal disruption is part of your daily business
- You'll be a key contributor to driving and promoting the network strategy in the Network Enterprise and other areas such as WAN, multicast networks and cloud networks, working with other network teams at Sky and harmonizing networks between areas
- You'll be responsible for working with application and functional teams to drive security thinking throughout the infrastructure development process, from concept through testing and implementation to operations
- As an interface, you'll support the team in security operations around firewalls, proxies, F5 load balancers, Cisco ISE, etc., supporting network security design and driving network architecture design in projects at Sky
- You'll be responsible for developing and documenting on the installation, network topology and troubleshooting of communication hardware and software, while promoting to maintain and improve the team spirit of the network and security team
What you’ll bring
- You've a degree in computer science/information technology and at least 5-6 years of experience with IT networks, data center network technologies, design of networks and their implementation.
- Your experience with Cisco ACI, EVPN/VXLAN, Nexus Switches, Arista etc., with network diagnostics, monitoring and analysis tools as well as your knowledge of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS) set you apart from others
- You've a deep understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP), IP multicast routing, and a strong troubleshooting ability.
- You've a professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP, CCIE)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, GCP experience and Kubernetes, as well as an understanding of infrastructure-as-code processes and tools are a plus
- You bring an understanding about scripting/coding experience with one or more languages (e.g. Python, Ansible)
- You describe yourself as team player (m/f/d) with organizational skills and mentoring abilities and your way of working as independent, flexible, and solution-oriented
- Your analytical skills, identifying and understanding problems & opportunities, and comparing data from multiple sources to draw conclusions are among your strengths
- A good command of English rounds out your profile (both verbal and written)
